Which Test is Best for my Child?

All three tests measure verbal, reading and math skills.  The ISEE and SSAT  have an essay portion. There is a 1/4 point penalty for wrong answers on the SSAT but no penalty for guessing on the ISEE.  Some schools will take either the ISEE or SSAT but Catholic schools require the CO-OP. The ISEE can be taken once a season at a variety of sites.  A student can take one SSAT flex test per testing year (August 1st to July 31st), in addition to all eight SSAT standard tests. The CO-OP test is given once a year, usually in November and the date is chosen by the archdiocese.
