Private Therapy
Carrie Beiter OTR and Karen Pazdera SLP provide individualized private therapy services after school and over the summer months at The Winston School of Short Hills.
Karen, a pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist who has over 20 years of experience in both private practice and at the Winston School of Short Hills, evaluates and treats children in the community who struggle with verbal expression, language comprehension and processing, auditory processing and/or memory, phonological awareness, vocabulary, reading comprehension, written expression, word retrieval, and articulation/apraxia. Karen has received training in multiple areas including IMSE OG+, Lindamood Bell Visualizing and Verbalizing, Lindamood Bell LiPS, Lindamood Bell Seeing Stars, Hochman Writing Program, auditory processing, myofunctional therapy, etc.
Carrie is a pediatric occupational therapist who has over 25 years of experience in both private practice and at The Winston School of Short Hills. She evaluates and treats children with a variety of diagnoses and challenges in the areas of sensory processing, gross and fine motor coordination, graphomotor skills, visual motor integration, visual perception and processing, and reflex integration. Carrie is certified in Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT), administration of the EASI test (Evaluation in Ayres Sensory Integration), Interactive Metronome (IM), The Listening Program (TLP) and the inTime programs. Carrie is also a Level 1 certified therapist by the American Hippotherapy Association. In addition, she has received training in multiple other areas including Brain Gym, NDT, Zones of Regulation, Handwriting Without Tears, Loops and Other Groups, and craniosacral therapy.
Through their private practices, both Carrie and Karen can provide clients with the necessary paperwork (medical receipts with diagnosis codes and treatment codes) to obtain insurance reimbursement for therapy with “out-of-network providers” for these medical services.
